Its really important that children come to school having had a good breakfast. Children who eat breakfast are more alert and less tired during the day and have a better chance to do well in school. Breakfast makes the difference in the way children look, the way they feel, and the way they grow and learn. Children seldom make up at other meals foods they miss at breakfast.
For parents who find it hard to ensure a good breakfast, WIX runs a Breakfast Club. You can apply for Breakfast Club using the online application form.
Please see our Before and After School page for more details.
School lunches are available at a cost of £10.00 per week (£2.00 per day). There has been much well-placed publicity about the quality of school meals, fortunately in Wandsworth more is spent on the ingredients than almost any other London borough. Our caterers are very keen to produce nutritious, appetising and balanced meals. Download and have a look at the Autumn/Winter 2016 School Dinner Menu.
We accept cash and cheques for all payments at reception. We also operate a cashless payment system: you can pay using the school’s online payment facility School Gateway. To use School Gateway you will need to set up access, please contact Ms Holt at the school reception for more details. Children in Reception year 1 and year 2 are eligible for School Dinners without any cost.
Children that opt out of school dinners may bring packed lunches. We strongly encourage healthy eating and ask parents who make packed lunches to include fruit or raw vegetables. Sweets, crisps and fizzy drinks are not allowed to be brought as part of lunch.
Outside the government's free provision of school dinners to children in reception, year 1 and year 2, you may wish to claim for for free school meals; you must do this at the beginning of each year. Please avoid delay, otherwise you will have to pay the full price for the school lunch.
To claim for free school meals you must be receiving one the following state benefits: income support, job seekers allowance, or child tax credit. You do not qualify for free meals if you are in receipt of working tax credit.
The school's receptionist will be able to help you with advice and forms to claim free school meals if you qualify.
Children are encouraged to bring a bottle of water to school; please ensure it is labelled with its owner's name. There are also many freshwater drinking fountains around the school.
